These R&G Paddock Stand Bobbins, or R&G Cotton Reels as they are also known as, are designed to fit the Aprilia RSV4-R, 2009 to 2014 models. This pair of bobbins screw in to the underside threads of the swinging arm so that a fork type paddock stand can be used to lift the rear wheel free of the floor, making it easy to lubricate and adjust the chain or remove the rear wheel entirely.
In addition these R&G Bobbins for Aprilia RSV4-R 09 to 14 or Cotton Reels as they often called, offer some crash protection by having a sacrificial point of contact in a fall. The R&G Aero Crash Protectors for Aprilia RSV4 R are also available for better crash protection.
